Job Summary: Megan’s Place is looking to hire a fun-loving, energetic, and compassionate driver to transport children and young adults with a variety of developmental and physical disabilities to and from school or home.

Responsibilities:

· Drive children and young adults between school, home, and Megan’s Place

· Drive and assist with field trips (this may include helping to load and unload supplies, participating in the field trips by supervising 1-4 participants, helping to push wheel chairs, etc.)

· Collaborate and communicate effectively with caregiver team and supervisors

· Regularly gassing up, cleaning, and maintaining the environment and basic safety of each vehicle

· Reporting maintenance issues to the Fleet and Facilities Manager

· Ability to drive a variety of vehicles including wheel chair vans, SUVs, large passenger vans and small busses

· Safely install car seats, boosters, and equipment for transfer of wheel chairs

· Adhere to all relevant standards of health and care provided by Megan’s Place, and other state and local agencies

Requirements:

· Must be at least 18 years old and had a license for a minimum of 2 years

· Must be willing to work a split shift – approximately 6:30-11am and 2-6:30pm on weekdays

· Must submit a Motor Vehicle Record and have a clean driving history

· Must complete a background check upon hire

· Must complete a Driver’s Safety Course and Test with the Director

· Must have CURRENT CPR/First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens (Universal Precautions) certification (can be obtained through our trainers upon hire)

· Positive and energetic attitude

· Patient, flexible, and demonstrates a passion for working with children and young adults with special needs

· Strong communication and time management skills

· Responsible and reliable

· Preferred: experience driving children

· Preferred: experience with working with individual with a variety of disabilities

Current Starting Pay $20/hour + Hiring Bonus and 401k and benefit options.
