The Finance Senior Analyst is a key position reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager and is included in the Central Accounting function at MBCI. As a member of the MBCI Finance Team, this central accounting role will support the month end closing process and ongoing activities within the department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, aspects of: monthly close, compliance, reporting, performance analysis and special projects as they arise. This position requires the ability to work effectively individually and on teams within a matrix organization while handling multiple priorities across functions and levels throughout the business. This position requires a developing knowledge in accounting, finance, financial control, systems, information analysis and reporting.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform assigned close tasks accurately and timely
• Prepare assigned journal entries and account reconciliations & substantiations
• Assist with the assessment of monthly financial performance, including root cause analysis and highlighting performance improvement areas to the operations team
• Develop detailed knowledge of accounting systems (Oracle FCCS/PBCS, Oracle GL, Friedman)
• Assist with the preparation and review of the annual budget for assigned corporate accounts
• Serve as backup for key functions within Central Accounting
• Maintain financial integrity by following established procedures, policies, and internal controls
• Maintain professional and technical accounting knowledge through appropriate training and education
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation and participate in Kaizen and Lean events where appropriate
• Perform other duties and participate in special projects as may be assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent also to be considered)
• CPA/CA, CMA and/or MBA a plus
• Minimum 3-5 years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Sarbanes Oxley, cost accounting and accounting acumen
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge and experience with ERP and/or MRP systems
