Job Title - Medical Assistant

Contract - 13 weeks

Location -

Duties-

Under the direction of a health care provider, The Medical Assistant will assist in providing care to patients while promoting safety and wellbeing for the population served. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
The Medical Assistant adheres to all applicable state and federal laws, regulatory agencies, and quality performance guidelines.

1. Performs general administrative and patient care tasks in accordance with the Scope of Practice, and other established policies and procedures.
2. Possesses the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-disciplinary care team.
3. Greets and prepare patients for the health care provider while maintaining a positive and caring attitude.
4. Attentive to patient’s needs, coordinates care, administers care, and documents appropriately.
5. Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights by observing HIPAA regulations
6. Obtains and record patient information; vital signs, height, weight, allergies, current medications, medical history, and chief complaint, etc.
7. Demonstrates knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
8. May be required to draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
9. Per Provider request, may perform routine tests including but not limited to EKG’s, hearing and vision screens.
10. Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follow up as appropriate to ensure completion of testing.
11. Communicates test results to patients and establish plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the Provider.

1. Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours
or scheduled shifts is required.
2. Able to understand and apply information, policies, procedures and skills required by
the position.
3. Possess knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations.
4. Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in providing safe, quality patient care.
5. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures as well as medical
equipment and instruments used in administering patient care.
6. Proficiency utilizing various computer software programs, i.e.: Microsoft Office Suite,
Electronic Health Records, as well as the ability to learn applications

Education- Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and/or be

a certified Medical Assistant

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
