In this role, the IT PMO Business Analyst will have the opportunity to contribute to ensuring business needs and performance requirements are met through the support of projects and initiatives within the Office of the CIO as well as projects managed by the IT PMO. The main responsibilities will include business analyst functions as listed below. Additional responsibilities will include managing initiatives with small-level complexity.

General Responsibilities:

Lead facilitated sessions with business users to define system build and enhancement requirements

Perform detailed requirements analysis and document the business requirements in the BRD document and/or backlog, manage requirements, and communicate findings

Design and map business requirements and solutions to system/technical workflows and processes
-
Documents the current business (AS-IS) and the future Requirements (TO-BE)
-
Employ various elicitation methods to gather and document business and technical requirements using both Waterfall methodologies and Agile frameworks (Business Requirements Document, Technical Requirements Document, Epics, Features, User Stories)

Efficiently integrate new systems, programs, and applications into existing business operations and services

Provide technical guidance to business teammates to make risks visible and provide crucial aid in decision making

Prepare artifacts including but not limited to process flows, workflow diagrams, data flow diagrams, use case diagrams, as-is/to-be state diagrams, data mappings

Understand Agile concepts such as Epics, Features, User Stories, and quality acceptance criteria

Work with the business to prioritize requirements

Communicate with project team members and external customers and/or vendors to ensure that critical information is shared in a timely manner

Assist in business change management activities

Create and maintain technical documentation
-
Review/test requirements and user stories to ensure they meet the acceptance criteria prior to User Acceptance Testing

Build and monitor KPI’s and help the team to make improvements to ensure the team is working efficiently

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
-
3-5 years of IT Business Analyst experience, OR equivalent experience
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively on teams.

Requirements gathering skills and facilitation (e.g., interviews, questionnaires, user observation, document analysis, workshops, brainstorming, etc.)

Analytical, Problem solving, ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality
-
Ability to lead meetings both on-site and virtual teams
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products

Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance
-
Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate both horizontally and vertically across the organization
-
Ability to travel for work required occasionally (up to 1 week per quarter)
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business or IT

Business Analyst Certification
