A beautiful town on the North Shore of Long Island is looking to add an experienced Director of Infection Prevention to their award winning organization.

Responsibilities and Competencies:
Participates in all departmental and interdisciplinary committees concerned with infection control policies.
Facilitates compliance and established standards from regulatory agencies; participates in ongoing activities to correct deficiencies.
Implements and maintains a system to detect/report nosocomial infections.Participates in defining, maintaining and interpreting standards of nursing practice and infection control. Interfaces with the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and department directors to set and participate in hospital-wide goals, initiatives and PI.Performs Environment of Care rounds providing feedback and follow-up.Participates actively in any hospital committee and disaster plan concerned with biologic agents.Works closely with Employee Health Services for the protection of Hospital Staff. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health or Microbiology
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State
Certified in Infection Control
Experience in epidemiology and public health preferred
Knowledge of Joint Commission, State and Federal Regulations
Excellent communication skills
Microsoft Word, Ability to learn AICE
