Job Description:

Bridge Department General Laborer:

For this opening Cleco is seeking candidates with previous labor experience. This employee will assist and perform bridge construction job duties while following OSHA and company regulations.

Job Site:

· Vansant, VA is the primary location. This position will require some occasional travel.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

· Assists in the set-up, cleaning, and preparing job site.

· Assist in the pouring, spreading concrete; smoothing and finishing concrete.

· Assist Carpenters in building forms for concrete.

· Perform physical tasks at a highway and heavy construction job site.

· Use a variety of hand and power tools such as jackhammers, demo saws, chain saws, concrete saws, shovels, rakes and pumps.

· Communicate with colleagues and managers about any problems and/or accidents

· Always maintain a professional and cooperative attitude with colleagues and managers

· Ability to work in a high-paced environment.

Requirements:

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

· Must be 18 years of age

· Prior construction experience preferred.

· Must be willing to travel occasionally. (Company covers lodging)

· Regular attendance required according to company’s attendance policy.

· Show initiative- growth within the company available

· Follow OSHA guidelines as well as those set forth by company policy.

· Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver items up to 50 pounds, including bulk objects.

· This position requires repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, and bending.

Job Type/Schedule:

· Full-Time position

· Monday- Friday Day Shift

· Occasional weekend work

· Possibility of overtime available
