Chaupain Bakery is a busy, high volume, family-owned bakery in Laguna Hills looking for an experience baker that has experience with French Pastries, baguettes, sourdough, and all other French artisan breads. We specialize in providing the highest quality of French pastries, and artisan bread available. We are looking for a candidate to join our Bakery Team!. We are looking for an experience Baker to prepare different types of pastries, artisan bread. Baker’s responsibilities include mixing raw ingredients, shaping or baking the dough. To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a Baker and be able to scale and shape bread.

Essential Duties:

• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use
• Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
• Bake different types of pastries and breads.
• Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
• Know and follow all bread bakery recipes to produce consistent, high quality food items.
• Maintain clean, sanitary, and well stocked work area that complies with the Health Department regulations.
• Organize area for next shift, including restocking of baking ingredients from workstation: flours, dairy, sweeteners, spices, etc.

Prevention Plan.

• Maintain clean and neat appearance in compliance with the Dress Code policy.

Qualifications:

• Know and adhere to the Health Department regulations.
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers and scales, dividers.
• Understands the importance of the handling of allergen containing products.
• Must have Food Handler’s Certificate within 10 days of employment.
• Previous scratch baking experience and knowledge of baking concepts. This includes a wide variety of bread, baguettes, and sourdough.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout any assigned shift unassisted.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb and balance on a step stool/ladder.
• Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
• Ability to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion.

Work Environment:

• Ability to work under a variety of conditions and temperatures, wet and dry, for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work safely around kitchen machinery and sharp knives.
• Ability to work in tight or limited space.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
