Job description

This full-time Marketing & Social Media position will be responsible for highlighting the conservation efforts of Barn Hill Preserve, creating content for social media platforms, documenting zoo updates, and increasing awareness about programs and events happening at the zoo. The ideal candidate will have strong photo and video production, graphic design, and social media skills.

Schedule: This is an onsite, full-time position at 40 hours per week. Occasionally evenings and weekends are necessary.

Job Duties:

1. Brainstorm and create compelling content

2. Capture photos and videos of animals, special events, and education programs.

3. Edit videos in line with our current social media

4. Research current social media, zoo, and conservation trends and suggest content ideas based upon it.

5. Create routine data driven social media reports.

6. Promote special events, talks, and education programs.

7. Assist with the creation of signage for the zoo

8. Help when needed at special events.

9. Help with hosted, VIP, and media visits.

Experience/Skills Required

1. Microsoft Office proficient.

2. Experience with Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

3. High School or GED required.

4. Pursuing or completed college degree in a relevant field.

5. Must be at least 18 years old.

6. Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of temperatures.

7. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

8. A passion for conservation and the mission of Barn Hill Preserve.

9. Excellent grammar skills

10. Communication and organizational skills

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
