JOB TITLE: BOX TRUCK DRIVER

REPORTS TO: DISPATCH MANAGER

JOB LOCATION: SEATAC, WA

POSITION TYPE: SEASONAL CONTRACT

HOURS: MONDAY TO FRIDAY 8:00am-5:00pm, WEEKEND AVAILABILITY

SALARY: $22-24 HOURLY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE, CELL PHONE REIMBURSEMENT

Job Description:

As a Box Truck Driver, you are responsible for driving our Box Truck vehicle for the purpose of delivering and picking up shipments from our customers. The driver will be required to ensure paperwork is signed and freight is accounted for.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Assist with loading and unloading merchandise from trucks

- Read packing list containing item details to ensure the accurate receiving of goods

- Drive and deliver goods throughout the greater Seattle area

- Pre-trip and post trip vehicle checks

- Report discrepancies as they arise to appropriate personnel

- Follow quality service standards and comply with company procedures, rules, and regulations

- Keep a clean and safe working environment

Desired Skills and Experience:

- Safe and legal driving operation of commercial vehicles, minimum 1 year experience preferred

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet time sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision

- Exceptional customer service attitude as well as strong written and verbal communication skills are a must

- Sit down forklift driving and pallet jack use experience

- Previous work experience driving and delivering goods

- Physically fit and able to lift or move boxes, equipment, materials, etc.

- High attention to detail and focus on accuracy

- Punctual and flexible with work hours based on volume of work during busy seasons. Some weekend hours required.

- Ability to use sound judgment, discretion and professional integrity

- Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent (some college/university preferred)

- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends

- Ability to acquire Hazmat Credentials

- Ability to pass drug screening tests

- Ability to pass a background check and acquire a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card)

- Ability and credentials to travel to Canada for meetings

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
