Responsibilities:
Working a school-based calendar, the primary responsibility of the WRAP (Working to Recognize Alternative Possibilities) Therapist will be to provide prevention, education outreach and clinical activities to at-risk children attending Douglas County public schools and their families designed to enhance youth success in school.
Some specific duties include but not limited to:
- Assignment to one or more schools for the provision of behavioral health services as part of the educational team at each school;
- Participation as a member of their school(s)'s mental health team and expected to be a regular attendee at meetings;
- Providing high quality direct services, including crisis intervention, therapeutic interventions, assessment, support services, intakes, and follow up to at-risk children and adolescents and their families;
- Screening, referral, and case management to help youth access relevant services;
- Coordinating intervention strategies with school personnel and other team members;
- Coordinating ongoing tasks of team members and maintaining compliance with grant requirements;
- Maintaining data and documentation to track outcome measures and compiling outcome measure reports;
- Coordination and collaboration with other child serving systems including but not limited to juvenile justice systems;
- Supervising practicum students; and
- Assuming additional responsibilities as circumstances warrant.
Qualifications:
- A master's degree in counselling, psychology, or social work and Kansas license in one of these disciplines; experience working with juveniles and families preferred;
- Experience in clinical interventions with juveniles and families, including crisis intervention;
- Experience in working with school personnel and in school settings; and
- Flexibility in assigned working hours.
