FLSA designation: Non-Exempt PURPOSE:
This position provides superior and quality customer service. Provides customers efficient and accurate transaction processing. Sell Bank’s products and services. Provide customer referrals for new products and services on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates a teller's window to serve the bank's customers by:
- Accepting retail and/or commercial deposits, verifying cash and endorsements and giving customers their receipts.
- Identifying customers and cashing checks, or referring customers to an officer for authorization to cash checks.
- Accepting savings deposits and withdrawals, verifying signatures.
- Providing additional customer services including Cashiers Checks, Western Union Money Orders, Savings Bonds.
- Balances cash daily.
- Accepting payments for all loans.
- Promotes the bank's products and services; consistently cross-sells bank products at every opportunity.
- Makes concentrated effort to solve customer problems.
- Follows teller over/short policy.
- Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, customers and potential customers
- Balance and service ATM as needed.
- Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
- Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the workflow.
- Will be involved in ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing cash.
- All other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
The minimum required job-related experience needed to demonstrate competence to perform the job is 0-6 months’ cash handling experience.
PROBLEM SOLVING
The major problem the incumbent must solve is to balance the conflicting responsibility of conducting error-free transactions while providing excellent customer service in a rapid and efficient manner. This requires a good level of concentration and an ability to be friendly with the customer while maintaining control over each transaction. The incumbent must be able to identify unlocated teller differences.
SPECIFIC EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL
- Knowledge of Windows based software.
- Ability to use a personal computer.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to cross sell bank products.
- Minimum 3-year’s bank teller experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
