Main responsibilities:

• Coordinating and executing day-to-day laboratory work and experiments (including Laboratory work and paperwork)
• Carrying out the practical elements of studies which can include: DNA/RNA extraction using manual extraction kits and or automated instruments; PCR manual setup and or using automated instruments; Gel electrophoresis; Sequencing workflows; Precision serial dilutions; Handling and processing of biological samples including pathogens
• Support the planning, reporting and evaluation of laboratory work and experiments.
• Accurate recording of laboratory work and experiments in laboratory notebooks, worksheets or a quality management system in a regulated environment

Position requirements, qualifications and experiences:

• Significant diagnostic experience in infectious diseases
• Clinical/diagnostic laboratory experience and /or microbiology experience desirable.
• or Multiplex PCR assay design experience an advantage.
• Proven track record and evidence of the ability to translate knowledge into practical achievements
• Expert in verbal/written communication skills (English)
• Experience of application development for automated systems desirable
