(CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING AVAILABILITY AND PROGRAMMATIC APPROVAL; this position is subject to budget approval and availability and may be withdrawn at any time)
POSITION:
District 23 Curriculum Planning – Teachers
LOCATION:
New York City Department of Education, various locations throughout Brooklyn, NY
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
NYC DOE Licensed and Appointed Teachers
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Preference will be given to teachers from schools in Community District 23
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and collaboratively on projects
- Can demonstrate a depth of experience in curriculum planning and unit design (standards alignment, lesson objectives, daily practices and/or lessons & activities)
- Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogical best practices
- Ability to successfully work in collaboration with other pedagogical staff.
- Demonstrated prior training/professional development in curriculum planning
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in Google and Microsoft platforms.
- Knowledge of HMH Curriculum
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of licensed pedagogical personnel, once selected participants agree to:
- Actively participate in curriculum planning sessions
- Create resources, including but not limited to lesson plans, unit plans, curriculum maps, supplemental materials
- Co-plan/organize school-based implementation practice and supports
WORK SCHEDULE:
May 2023 – June 2023 (Approximately 5 hours depending upon funding availability)
Wednesdays and/or Thursday, 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.
SALARY:
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
