Community Interface Services is looking for flexible self-starters to work part-time as Substitute Resource Counselors.

We are a local nonprofit organization that has been serving San Diego County since 1983. The agency was founded on the principles that people with developmental disabilities are in the best position to determine how they want to live, and all people, regardless of disability, should be valued and included in society. As a Substitute Resource Counselor, you would be embodying these values to directly create change in someone's life.

A Day in the Life of a Substitute Resource Counselor

Take charge of your own schedule and set the days and times that you are available to work. We will work with you to match your availability with participants who need support. As a Substitute, you would be working across programs offered here at Community Interface Services and support people in:

• Connecting them to community resources or planning recreational activities
• Assisting people at their local volunteer site
• Pairing with someone as they go to work, and provide direction to build their skills
• Assisting someone in their home in preparing meals, maintaining their household, or teaching independent living skills

This role is perfect for anyone wanting to gain experience in the social services field! We will provide on-the-job training to prepare you for this role. Flexible schedules are available for part-time and potentially full-time employees depending on your availability. Starting salaries range from $18.50-19.50 per hour. Work locations include Escondido, Poway, or Mira Mesa.

Qualifications

• Relevant education or experience
• A vehicle in good working condition that can seat 3-4 people
• CA Driver's License, Auto Insurance, and good driving history
• Covid 19 Vaccination (and booster if eligible)
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background
