EHT a subsidiary of Bmt located in Madison Heights, MI is looking for a Straightener Operator.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to tolerate heat, odors, dust, soot, and noise levels associated with Heat Treating Processes.

DESCRIPTION: Operator uses press machine to straighten metal parts, bars, and/or sheets.Operator aligns press to general measurements of piece, by hand or crane loads part to press; again adjusting to that particular piece using the press to straighten piece. Constantly examining piece for straightness, he goes over entire piece until straightness is achieved.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Must be able to read all instrumentation, gages and sight glasses to set and monitor

necessary information. Experience on hydraulic presses to straighten and measure TIR (Total Indicator Runout) on a variety of ball screws and or blank bar stock.

2. Must be able to operate all material handling equipment such as crane, forklift,

transfer car and conveyors.

3. Must be able to lift parts as needed to make loads.

4. Must be able to operate testing equipment including Brinell Tester, Rockwell Tester, metals lab equipment for polishing and metallograph.

5. Must be able to fill out necessary reports.

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have strength and agility to lift parts and adjust machine for proper alignment to straighten.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: On job, as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
