Position Summary:

The Mgr. Human Resources Operations is responsible for establishing, directing and managing the Human Resource functions within all U.S Airbus Helicopters manufacturing sites. Plays key role by providing both practical and strategic support including Positive Employee Relations culture, staffing, employee communications, employee engagement activities, recognition, performance management, talent management, organizational effectiveness and employee relations.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. HR Operations & Strategy: 40%

  • Ensure the optimal coordination of all HR related activities across all sites and ensure the the NA Region HR initiatives are aligned in support of AHNA business objectives.
  • Responsible to liaise with Canadian HR counterparts ensuring optimal relationships and open communication
  • Design, implement and maintain initiatives that help promote a positive employee relations culture.
  • Ensure proper management of Expat Onboarding and Repatriation working with C&B.
  • Establishes human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Aligns and Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, staffing, employment processing, records management and employee relations.
  • Support development of talent management strategies which will enhance employee engagement and mitigate future talent gap.
  • Make recommendations regarding key hiring decisions within the business to HR colleagues and assigned HRBP Client Team
  • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing and updating policies, procedures, methods and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organizational values. Validate and participate in compliance of writing proper job descriptions
  • Ensures a fair and consistent interpretation and application of Company policies, practices and procedures that create and maintain a people first culture.
  • Maintains employee relations, respond to employee concerns and conduct investigations as needed to resolve matters working with VP of HR/Legal Counsel.
  • Foster change leadership, act as an HR brand ambassador, and drive values culture in conjunction with diversity and inclusion.
  • Partner/collaborate with the leadership team to align and execute HR strategies in support of business objectives in all business locations including internationally.
  • Participate/lead in special projects as assigned by VP of HR, CEO for Airbus Helicopters NA
  • Process approvals/validation for payroll status changes, to include promotions, terminations, wage adjustments.
  • Process approvals for PR/PO/Invoices within signature authority.
  • Drive and deliver high quality project work for the benefit of Airbus organizations in the US and globally.
  • Anticipate and influence HR related needs by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of business objectives, strategies, and challenges

2. Supervision and Leadership: 40%

  • Serves as primary backup for VP of HR/EHS Head of NA Region, and attends High level executive meetings in the absence of the VP.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to HR teams at all U.S. sites to include supervision of VIEs, Interns, Contractors, and HR Operations staff.
  • Provide leadership to Management and HRBPs in all areas of performance management to include goal and objective setting, performance reviews, individual development, performance improvement, and corrective action plans
  • Provides day-to-day supervision and guidance to HR staff in the development and dissemination of better business practices that are consistent, accurate, and align with company objectives.
  • Provides timely guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas needed to accomplish tasks/ goals, or solve a problem.
  • Develops and uses collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of department objectives.
  • Provide continuous feedback regarding performance and conduct annual appraisals

3. HRBP Client Team Customer Focus: 20%

  • Champion and demonstrate high level of personal integrity and ethics
  • Lead meaningful career coaching, including following through with professional development goals
  • Enforce consequential management when appropriate
  • Actively engage and listen to employees, responding appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Conduct Exit Interviews
  • Provide leadership and guidance to HRBP client team on topics such as Employee Relations, Organization Development and Design, Change Management, Performance Management, Leadership Development, Employee Training & Development, Succession Planning, Talent Acquisition and Retention, Compensation & Benefits.
  • Actively participates with the business leaders and their teams to ensure relevant information on all HR related business activities are understood, acted upon and cascaded appropriately.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor' degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field is desirable.

Preferred:

  • MBA or Masters in HRM, ILR or other relevant field preferred

Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum twelve (12) years of Human Resources experience in a progressive HR Generalist or HRBP role.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience and proven track record of success in a U.S. Manufacturing Environment.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a multi-cultural environment,
  • International experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-functional international environment and Avionics industry preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

  • Ability to forecast company requirements well in advance maintaining communication to all stakeholders

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Superior written, presentation and oral communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and exceptional listening skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English, with ability to influence and direct others
  • French, German, or Spanish skills a plus

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Must be computer literate, with a strong knowledge of Microsoft applications.

  • Provide advice and support to line management in organization structure development, employee problem resolution and conflict resolution. Monitor administration to standards. Identify opportunities and resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep the company abreast with current practices and informed of new developments.
  • Partners with region wide HRBP team to harmonize goals and processes across North America
  • Leverage technological savviness to support the business, implement new processes, drive employee engagement and prepare for the future
  • Lead innovation and creative problem solving to champion change management initiatives
  • Signature authority on invoices and expenditures.
  • Approve Payroll Status Change Forms (PSCs) for new hires, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, relocations, terminations and other personnel changes.
