Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity considerations include an assessment of the applicant’s salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirements for the job.

Position Summary
The Finance Department is a team of professionals that are tasked with functions including capital and debt planning, investments, accounting, payroll, procurement, grant management and payables along with providing additional fiscal support to departments across the County. Manage and make decisions on the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the County.
This managerial position is responsible for the organization's accounting functions, which may include cost and general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable; budget, revenue, lead and manage the work of other employees.
Essential Functions
Maintain the organization's general ledger, tracking assets, liabilities, expenses, and revenues
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting
Assist internal and/or external auditors with periodic auditing or the organization's financial records and statements; reconcile and adjust bank accounts to manage cash flow
Administer departmental policies and procedures, evaluate results and performance, and assist with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies
Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities and directives; make recommendations
Review reports submitted by staff members to recommend approval or to suggest changes
Deliver speeches, write articles, or present information at meetings or conventions to promote services, exchange ideas, or accomplish objectives
Interpret and explain policies, rules, regulations, or laws to organizations, government or corporate officials, or individuals
Prepare or present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes or rulings, or other items affecting businesses or program services
Serve as liaisons between organizations, shareholders, and outside organizations Minimum
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible fiscal; including two years of supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing large Accounts Payable team.
Skilled at leading special projects and ability to work with cross functional teams.
Strategy minded with ability to improve productivity.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Licenses and Certifications
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes Licenses and Certifications
May require a North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License Preferred Qualifications
