Job Summary
The role of Senior Manager, Express Cargo Operations, is to lead, develop and drive the overall operational direction of the Express network for Swissport. This position will report to the Senior Director, Express Cargo Operations will lead all functional aspects of day to-day operations at product line level to ensure efficiency and performance in accordance with the corporate objectives, strategy and plans.
Job Responsibilities

• The Senior Manager, Express Cargo Operations will work with each Express station to ensure customer expectations are met.

• Oversee, monitor, and evaluate express product line’s performance to ensure increased customer satisfaction, profitability, productivity and opportunities for further growth in the market

• Work closely with the product line’s customers to discuss their needs

• Senior Manager, Express Cargo Operations will work with each site to develop and approve Monthly Operating plans for each site.

• Senior Manager, Express Cargo Operations will work with each site to ensure location is prepared for major operational changes including holiday plans, new operational procedures and heavy volume seasons.

• Develop tools and methods to ensure that operations are consistent in reporting, response and communication

• Monitor and analyze quality and performance standards on station level and ensure continuous improvements in workflows and services to maintain competitiveness

• Lead, guide, evaluate and develop station level leadership teams

• Work closely with all internal Swissport stakeholder to ensure support as needed (Fleet, TA, Training, HR, Finance, Procurement etc.)

• In cooperation with operations, establish and maintain a team of TDY that can be dispatched on a short notice to support startups of new stations or to ensure business continuity

• Explore new ideas and innovations to provide additional value for customer and Swissport

• Review key performance indicators (KPI's) and analyze trends

• Monitor and track service quality and communicate actively with operations to ensure that when needed, corrective actions are carried out in a timely manner

• Participate in the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems, or other assets and resources;

• Analyze and approve operational investments that best meet the organization's business needs

• Monitor and track the financial performance and ensure that stations are meeting their targets

• Provide financial reporting as required.

• Willingness to travels up to 75% of the time.

• Ability to travel on short notice to support operational changes and emergencies.

• Ability to work within the US and obtain any required airport badges for supported locations
• Will provide support to Amazon locations: ATL, BOI, DEN, IAH & ORD (other stations as needed)

Qualifications and Competencies

• 5+ years’ experience with e-commerce/express products and/or cargo

• University degree or equivalent, advanced degree in related field or professional certifications are advantageous

• Team focused management style that fits into a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

• Strong strategic skills and commercial acumen combined with the ability to motivate teams to deliver high quality standards

• An understanding of express logistics and what is needed to succeed in fast paced aviation environments

• Fluent spoken and written English

• Strong oral and written communications and ability to communicate and motivate at all levels

• A sense of urgency and a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement

• Personal and professional integrity of the highest order

• Ability to work efficiently through an established organization but when needed not to fear leading people from the front

• Excellent working knowledge of business management principles and practices, financial concepts, and key drivers of profitability and operational performance

• Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional, internal and external work relationships

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
