Summary of Primary Functions


This position will work closely with the local Sales Professionals in the state of Georgia. The Sales Trainee will be responsible for properly quoting all new and used John Deere equipment and allied products, distributed by Dobbs Equipment. The candidate will be an integral part in streamlining our quoting process to grow Dobbs Equipment (John Deere) equipment market share in the state of Georgia. The Sales Trainee will work directly with the Inventory and Logistics teams to ensure the correct attachments and freight are quoted.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: May include some or all the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Accurately quote machines, attachments, and freight
  • Grow and develop customer relationships and loyalty to increase market share
  • Quote and negotiate prices, credit terms, prepare contracts and record and close orders
  • Meet or exceed company targets for units, dollars, and gross profit
  • Attend training and sales meetings as required to stay current with new equipment and special deals
  • Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of the Sales Department and the organization
  • Ensure customer satisfaction. Work with the sales team to know the customer’s expectations both today and the future.

  • Valid Drivers License

Technical Skills & Knowledge
: Specialized skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Knowledge of Territory/ Customers /Alliance Partners, finance programs and products is a plus (performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others)
  • Broad based business, sales, CRM and marketing skills (performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others)
  • Knowledge of heavy machinery dealer business practices is a plus (has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners)


Qualification:

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Inside Sales experience

Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements
:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and customers
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to self-manage/self-motivate.
  • PC literate, proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Quick learner with the ability to think out of the box.
  • Extensive driving required; overnight travel required
  • Bilingual a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
