Job Summary: This position coordinates patient treatment, to include intake, processing benefit verification, authorization responsibilities, and scheduling. Infusion Coordinators are responsible for orchestrating transition services with internal and external partners to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all required documentation is of the highest quality while providing exceptional customer service. The Infusion Coordinator is responsible for proactively building strong relationships with referral sources, account managers, care transition coordinators and internal nursing, pharmacy, and revenue cycle team members.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

Initiate and manages all infusion referrals, pre-authorizations, and pre-certifications.

Determine insurance eligibility and medical necessity requirements for each patients insurer.

Schedule appointments when applicable. Coordinate with Infusion RN staff to optimize scheduling.

Register patients for infusion.

Collect any copay or balances on account. Work with patients to set up payment plans whenever necessary.

Act as a resource for patients with all patient assistance programs.

Work with all appointed drug representatives to obtain patient assistance program information.

Act as a full-service patient concierge delivering ease of access to infusion services.

Provide patient education on financial responsibility, payment options, and financial assistance programs.

Maintain familiarity with all rules and regulations pertaining to each insurance payer.

Communicate and resolve problems with patient, divisions, referral sources, and third-party insurance companies as necessary.

Coordinate the onboarding of referrals between different functional areas including Pharmacy, Nursing, Manufacturer, and Revenue Cycle.

Proactively maintain and grow relationships with referral sources and serves as a key point of contact and representative.

Responsible for collecting, reviewing, and completing applicable care transition documents.

Education and Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

One (1) year of customer service or account management experience or patient registration/revenue cycle management experience.

Work Environment
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stoop as necessary. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
