Purchasing Agent Responsibilities:
Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services.
Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
Requesting cost proposals and negotiating contracts and prices.
Preparing and processing purchase orders.
Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries.
Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations.
Work remotely with the Chena Hot Springs Resort leadership team to coordinate orders, receive purchasing orders from them, fulfill their purchase needs.
Receive phone calls, texts and emails safely and efficiently. Stay in constant communication with the leadership team and General Manager.
Make online order purchases

Purchasing Agent and Expeditor Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position a plus.
Proficiency in email, text, and Google Workplace.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong organization and documentation skills.
Strong research and analytical skills.

Expeditor Responsibilities:
Retrieve, secure, and deliver packages, boxes, materials purchased to Chena Hot Springs Resort.
Deliver packages, boxes, materials to various company locations such as the corporate office, Chena Power scrap yard, or to Chena Hot Springs Resort.
Enter stores to physically shop items not able to be ordered online.

Expeditor Requirements:
Knowledge of the Fairbanks/North Pole area and stores is required.
Long-term local resident of Fairbanks
CDL Class A license required for pulling trailers or using larger box vans with special DOT requirements.
Confident driver to drive on snow and ice conditions in the winter to Chena Hot Springs Resort.
Knowledge in using chains for tires or ability to learn how to install
Pass a driver’s medical examination and be fit enough to operate a commercial vehicle.
Physically required to repeatedly lift items up to 75lbs (packages, boxes, materials)
Skills to safely secure packages, materials, goods on a trailer and in the back of a box van. Road conditions to Chena Hot Springs Resort can shift items around.

Pre-employment drug screening and background check
Pre-employment verification of license and documents
Purchasing: 3 days a week, 8am-5pm
Expediting: 2 days a week unless otherwise necessary
