This is a professional level position in the Executive Direction and Support Services Division of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs, responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and building the FDVA’s Patriot Navigator program, and for helping to build a coordinated reporting and communications system for the HOPE Florida program. This includes building out workspace, hiring staff, and developing all the policies and procedures for the program. The program will oversee the creation of a referral network and communication system for volunteers and veterans who need services with government agencies, veteran service organizations and other community groups. Once the program is developed, the Director will conduct direct oversight and operational direction of the Patriot Navigator Program. This position manages and supervises the Patriot Navigator staff, directing their day-to-day work, activities, and projects including directing staff who support customer service and intake, outreach, resource promulgation, and related functions. The Director establishes performance standards and monitors the performance of all team members (through performance reviews) and provides associated feedback. This position requires expertise in providing services to veterans and their families, and with not-for-profit organizations that provide services. Position requires a Level II Background check.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent computer and typing skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and people skills.
Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage, and Family Therapy or equivalent
At least five documented years of not-for-profit leadership and/or management experience
Documented Project Management and/or Strategic Planning Experience
Documented experience in Strategic Program Development
Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening and due diligence process.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Documented Executive experience in Not-for-Profit Leadership and/or Management.
Documented Program Development experience at an Executive level
