This is an entry level position with an hourly rate of $16-$17/hr.

Position Overview


Summary

This position is responsible for supporting Human Resources by doing special projects and assisting with general administration regarding onboarding and termination, benefits, payroll, legal compliance, and other human resource function. Ensures effective communications both internally and externally to maintain a positive and professional image for the company.


Responsibilities

The Human Resources Office Specialist will perform duties including, but not limited to:

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies.
  • Creates and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction for all employees.
  • Support employees with questions regarding how to input time off, time worked, direct deposits, etc. in HRIS.
  • Sorts, sends and distributes mail.
  • Answer incoming calls to dedicated HR line.
  • Electronically scan employee files and upload to HRIS and Shared Drive.
  • Support HR Coordinators in completing/obtaining reference checks and other background checks as required.
  • Maintaining employee personnel files to ensure legal compliance.
  • Providing written and verbal employment verifications.
  • Coordinating new hire paperwork, and new hire orientation meetings.
  • Responsible for coordination of background screenings for all prospective employees.
  • Provide local coordination and support for regional and corporate HR initiatives.
  • Processing invoices for Human Resources.
  • Team oriented and driven to problem solve through innovative solutions
  • Assisting with additional projects, as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Previous experience and proficiency in the use of various office machines, including computers.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
