SOFT's client located in Ayer, MA is looking for a Network Administrator - Cyber Security NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) for a long term contract assignment.

Description:
The position of Network Administrator will have responsibility in evaluating the vendor design to ensure it meets both the company's and NERC cyber security criteria. The Network Administrator will be responsible for the reliable operation of the cyber security infrastructure, monitoring and troubleshooting equipment as needed including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
· The Network Administrator will have responsibility for all efforts and activities to ensure the reliable operation of the cyber security infrastructure.
· Responsible for the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of all network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
· Assist in the design, planning and implementation of the NERC CIP compliance work, particularly on migrating from a project to creating and implementing ongoing, sustainable, and repeatable processes for a production C+P system platform.
· Work with the company's Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) and FERC Compliance personnel to ensure consistency in meeting the company's NERC CIP v5 standards and NERC CIP v5 document repository framework.
· Lead and participate in auditing activities conducted for compliance verification by NERC, Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Internal Audit.
· Develop, refine, review and update C+P specific documentation, processes, procedures and standards to maintain compliance with NERC CIP v5; develop tools and metrics for periodic reporting. Develop C+P NERC CIP compliance assessment and remediation reports.
· Assist in recommendations, design and implementation of future automated systems, procedures, and methods required for maintaining and streamlining NERC CIP compliance.
· Participate in department and/or cross-functional teams to complete special projects or assignments as requested.
· Administer and configure users on the company's systems that validate and allow secure access to C+P infrastructure.
· Interface with the company’s Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) to ensure that the C+P networks are properly being monitored; periodically review system logs (IDS, FW and Security Event Monitoring device logs) to identify security incidents.

Knowledge & Experience Required:
· An Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Technology from an ABET accredited engineering school, (3yrs) Experience in configuring and troubleshooting networks, routers, switches and firewalls
· Prior experience in NERC CIP v5 compliance a plus
· Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to achieve and communicate with a sense of urgency
· Ability to work with a variety of personnel and be conversant with both technical and business-oriented personnel
· Competency with network security and information security concepts and technologies
· Ability to meet pressured deadlines, time constraints and periodic requirements
· Demonstrated ability to develop long-range program plans, set goals and objectives, and decisions on program priorities and analyze program effectiveness
· Networking experience preferred (CCNA, CCNA Security, or Network + certifications)
· Solid understanding of IP networking protocols

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• On call
