We are currently hiring for a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Coordinator fosters quality assurance and evaluation principles, strives for efficient data collection and analysis activities, and is committed and independently motivated person with the necessary skills to fill this position.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Evaluation, the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Coordinator will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Assist with the maintenance of organizational and programmatic quality standards, especially ensuring that all program/clinical services and activities standards are met.
  • Assist with monitoring the provision of programmatic activities and clinical services.
  • Assist with ensuring the accurate collection and entry of the appropriate documentation in organizational databases (eCW and CAREWare).
  • Assist with monitoring progress toward the achievement of all performance measures (e.g., # of clients who achieve viral suppression) for each program/clinical area.
  • Assess client satisfaction with services and make necessary recommendations to the program and clinical services team, as well as the Quality Management Team.
  • Participate in on-going meetings with the interdisciplinary team consisting of Community Health Workers, Case Managers, Therapists and other clinical providers to discuss successes, challenges, and innovative approaches to improve these core organizational services.
  • Draw strategic input from key stakeholders (e.g. customers) thereby ensuring consistent quality assurance, quality control and continuous improvement across the organization..
  • Develop a monitoring calendar for field/site visits across programs and clinical services.
  • Assist with conducting regular field (in-house and community outreach) observation visits to ensure program/data quality and compliance.
  • Participate in customer listening activities to identify customer needs and expectations.
  • Assist with formulation and enforcement of internal quality controls.
  • Support the program and clinical services team in organizing and facilitating program planning and learning meetings.
  • Assist with compiling, analyzing and disseminating of quantitative and qualitative information for improved programs/clinical services decision-making.
  • May lead or assist in the development of the training manual, as well as ongoing data entry and quality assurance training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Expectations

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of a robust monitoring and evaluation system that will ensure tracking of programs’ results at different levels (outputs, outcomes, and impact).
  • Work with managers and supervisors to ensure the collection of relevant and appropriate data needed for an effective MEL system which will be utilized in monitoring strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in existing projects/ programs and services and for reporting on donor commitments.
  • Review existing data collection tools and assist with the development of new data collection tools for programs and services.
  • Provide relevant evidence for learning from projects/programs implementation and service delivery to inform improvement.
  • Share learning and provide constructive comments/recommendations to colleagues, program, and clinical teams to ensure consistency in the quality of programs and services.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required for this position OR a minimum of 5 years program/quality management / data management experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills required, including proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records.
  • Commitment: Passion for the mission of the organization as well as linkage and retention-in-care services, including a strong commitment to working to improve the health and quality of life of LGBT youth and adults, people living with HIV/AIDS, other chronic diseases, and mental health disorders.
  • Knowledge: Must have demonstrated knowledge of a variety of health-related services in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, along with an interest and ability to expand knowledge through training.
  • Experience: Must demonstrate experience with issues related to HIV care and treatment. Experience with issues that put people at risk for poorer health is also highly helpful, such as homelessness, incarceration, domestic violence, and/or substance abuse.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills are essential. Demonstrated ability to conduct sensitive, empathetic interviews and conversations that respect the dignity and diversity of our clients. Ability to engage staff and clients in a supportive and empowering way. Ability to help manage conflict. Ability to maintain client records and information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.
  • Personal qualities: Personal qualities including energy, intelligence, sound judgment, ability to work independently (with less supervision); the ability to work effectively in a busy environment; and the interpersonal skills to work effectively in partnership with others.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Success in developing and monitoring performance measures for grant deliverables as well as clinical, behavioral and social support services.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks) and electronic databases (e.g., RedCap, Excel, SPSS)
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in reviewing and analyzing client-level data and other program-related information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, team building and problem solving/decision-making skills. Team player attitude, energetic, with a focus on excellent customer service are key.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational and stress management skills.
  • Experience working with LGBTQ individuals and racial minorities and respects cultural and religious practices of patients.

Specifications:

  • Salary range $60,000-$75,000 (based on experience) plus a generous benefits package, including annual leave an 80/20 employer/employee-paid health/dental/vision insurance, federally observed holidays.
  • Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekend commitments.
  • Valid U.S. work permit required.
  • Must submit to and successfully complete a background investigation and drug test.
  • Us Helping Us has a smoke-free environment and non-smokers are preferred. Excellent personal hygiene is a must.
