COMPENSATION: $18.50 - $21.00

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

  • Accepts and documents new medications brought into the community per policy. Safely prepares and assists resident with medication administration. Maintains accurate medication documentation and records. Complete the three (3) checks of the 6 (six) rights.
  • Responds to on-site emergencies with the emergency response team.
  • Takes vital signs as indicated.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of residents’ status, significant changes in condition.
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed.
  • Provides clerical support and receptionist services for department as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of six months experience as a Medication Technician in a Senior Living Community or Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification required.
  • Current CNA certification a plus.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills required.

CRITICAL FUNCTION:

  • This position is essential to the safety of our residents and staff; and to the operation and function of the community. Employee may be recalled to report to work for an emergency, unusual occurrence, resident care need, visit from regulatory/governing agencies or any other event deemed necessary by the Executive Director, Administrator, and designee.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and squatting for approximately 90% of the work day. Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair or shower chair, pushing up to generally 200 +/- lbs. Must be able to transfer, turn and position a resident generally weighing up to 125 lbs. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. When lifting over 35 lbs, you are required to ask for assistance. Occasionally push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment generally weighing up to 200 lbs. May be exposed to communicable diseases including HIV and Hepatitis B viruses; industrial and household chemicals; offensive odors; and combative behavior.
