Hourly rate for this position is $13.48 - $23.59.
This posting will fill 5 positions 65010755,65017509, 65018035, 65018036, 65018037.
Positions perform journey level work in the application of paint coating systems used to preserve marine craft. Positions select, mix and apply a variety of coating materials. Work includes the cleaning and general maintenance of work materials including paint guns, regulators, tanks, and hoses. Assignments are received from the Marine Painter Supervisor who inspects work during progress and upon completion.
Offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of NCDOT and Ferry Division’s drug, Fit-For-Duty, and cardiopulmonary function/respirator fit tests.

Working knowledge of standard practices and methods of the paint coating systems used to preserve marine craft.- Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used in the painting trade.
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
