Here’s the Gist:
The Operations Reporting Engineer will support Manufacturing Operations by personally impacting and shaping the startup and ramping to volume production at Wolfspeed’s new Materials Factory. This will be based on your ideas, experience, and strength in developing and implementing innovative and robust scheduling, dispatching, reporting and automation solutions. This role will provide the unique opportunity to learn, interact and integrate with all supporting groups, like equipment and process engineering, manufacturing operations, industrial engineering and facilities. The role will build from scratch fully integrated factory simulation capabilities, using commercial software solutions.
The Day-to-Day:
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all BI reporting.
  • Design, setup and implement data analytics and reporting solutions to help the operations team to optimize resource utilization and support continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of all local data sources with the ability to properly map data.
  • Develop SQL script to extract, load, and transform data in meaningful reports.
  • Work closely with the production teams to address issues as they arise.
  • Support the scheduling/dispatching team in ETL tracing as bandwidth allows.
  • This position will be based in Durham, NC and will additionally support our new Materials Factory in Siler City, NC
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
  • BS degree from a four-year college/university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Knowledge in reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and/or Spotfire.
  • Demonstrated experience in SQL writing database queries (Oracle and SQL Server).
  • Proficient with databases and data analysis tools (SQL, Oracle, Excel, VBA, JMP, etc.)
  • Self-motivated and ability to learn on one’s own.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate specs provided by users to visualized reports in a clean and clear way.
  • High motivation with continuous drive for improvement.
Highly preferred skills and certifications: (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Specific experience in scheduling/dispatching and data analytics solutions within wafer FAB using commercial MES, AMHS, MCS and dispatching/scheduling solutions
  • Proven experience in supporting highly automated/paperless new FAB startups as well as 24/7 FAB support.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams on multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent knowledge in factory physics and operations research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent observational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
