Responsibilities

The Data Manager is a key member of the analytics team and will play a critical role in ensuring the organization’s data is accurate, accessible, and reliable. The Data Manager will be responsible for overseeing the resources for data operations, data management, and data warehouse that supports the analytics team for a growing value-based care MSO (Management Services Organization). This includes managing a team of data engineers, data architects, and data quality analysts, developing and implementing data management processes and procedures, and ensuring data quality and integrity. The Data Manager will be responsible for hiring and managing the data team’s performance and will work closely with the Senior Manager and the analytics team to understand the data needs of the organization and develop strategies to meet those needs.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Hire and manage a team of data engineers, data architects, and data quality analysts, providing guidance and direction to ensure accurate and timely data analysis.
  • Develop and implement data management processes and procedures to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Maintain the data warehouse and ensure data is easily accessible and available to the analytics team.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager and the analytics team to understand the data needs of the organization and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
  • Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for the performance of the data team, including setting performance goals, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations.

Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data management and implement modern technologies and techniques as appropriate.

Salary Range: $58,240‬ – $133,328‬ (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)


Qualifications

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, quantitative, or technical area of study or equivalent experience

Preferred: Master’s degree in business, quantitative, or technical area of study

Experience

Required:

  • 5+ years of management experience leading a data team
  • Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and data governance
  • Experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience working with large and complex data sets
  • Experience leading a team using agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience administering a git version control system such as Azure DevOps or GitHub

Preferred:

  • Experience working with medical and pharmacy claims data
  • Previous experience and/or exposure to Epic Systems
  • Knowledge of and/or experience analyzing finance and medical economics, provider network management, care management, pharmacy, and clinical operations, quality informatics (HEDIS and Stars)
  • Experience building DevOps pipelines in Azure DevOps
  • Experience building a data warehouse using Kimball methodology

Required:

  • Strong understanding of version control and release planning
  • Strong knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques, such as SQL, R, and Python

  • Strong business and technical acumen
  • History of resolving issues arising from operations and coordinating with other departments to develop solutions where necessary
