JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Compensation and Benefits will work directly with the Director, Benefits to implement and provide ongoing support of compensation and benefits programs throughout the Reliance Family of Companies (FOC). These programs include Health and Welfare benefits, Wellness Programs, and Retirement Benefits. In addition, this role will work with the Sr. Manager, Benefits and HR Benefits Administrator to support the annual enrollment process as needed. This newly created position will play a critical role in establishing a compensation program at the FOCs, including compensation related systems, practices, procedures and policies. The Manager, Compensation and Benefits will apply a broad knowledge of compensation concepts, keep several projects and processes moving forward while maintaining a high level of data integrity and system awareness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs annual salary reviews to ensure relevant market benchmarking. Provides insight to trends, motivators, and benchmarks.
  • Requires strong knowledge of various compensation plans, retirement benefits, and legal requirements to support both.
  • Will work with the Director, Benefits, benefits teams, legal, and accounting to establish best practices, define and document procedures to support various compensation programs such as Deferred Compensation, Restricted Stock Unit, and Performance Stock Unit plans.
  • Assists with and support financial analysis and performance of benefits plans.
  • Conduct risk mitigation activities and proposes solutions as appropriate.
  • Supports projects and communications related to Total Rewards messaging.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May participate in acquisition due diligence, onboarding, and integration.
  • Works with HR Managers and operations teams to research compensation issues and provide in-depth analysis. Provides ad-hoc reporting to HR leadership and HR Managers as needed.
  • Frequent communications with individuals outside of the Benefits department.
  • May work with accounting and local management to review, update, and/or design compensation plans.
  • Works with Sr. Manager, Recruiting and Development and the Hiring Compliance Specialist to support recruiting and hiring activities to ensure offers are based on market rate and have internal equity when necessary.
  • Special projects may include: evaluation of base pay, incentive pay analysis, pay equity, benefits programs, satisfaction and competitiveness analysis, performing or supporting compliance reviews and plan audits. May perform job evaluation and job analysis activities as part of special projects.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Pay Rate: $55.29 - $67.31 per hour / Depending on Experience


Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field required; Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources Management of Mathematics preferred.
  • 5+ years of managerial and plan administration experience in a Compensation and Benefits Manager or similar role required.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and Payroll software.
  • Knowledge of compensation packages and bonus programs for various functions and seniority levels.
  • Ability to break down complex benefits explanations and communicate to those not experienced with the details of various benefits plans.
  • Experience with market survey data, developing compensation offers and applying job-leveling criteria to align roles and responsibilities within an internal job hierarchy.
  • Direct experience with employee wealth management, benefits related professional services and risk mitigation, experience with insurance, retirement, pension, and health insurance plans preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products required.

There are two preferred candidate locations: Los Angeles, CA and Phoenix, AZ.
