General Position Statement:
The Lock Desk Specialist is responsible to lock loans timely and in accordance with established income margins. This position will also be responsible to generate various lock activity reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor online applications received and assign to Loan Officers as needed.
Obtain daily interest rate pricing from investors and monitor the movement of the market.
Lock in customer interest rates with investors through pricing and loan origination software.
Calculate, compare, and confirm profit margins with locked loans.
Work with investors regarding any lock changes, program changes, lock cancellations, etc. as requested by processors and loan originators.
Communicate with originators and processors regarding any pricing discrepancies.
Report lock activity weekly and monthly to Secondary Marketing Manager, Mortgage Operations Manager and Mortgage President.
Maintain pricing and profit spreadsheet and verify discrepancies of locked loan pricing vs. purchased loan pricing.
Report upcoming lock expirations weekly to originators and processors.
Participate in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including, but not limited to the following: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act: Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
General computer experience to include Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Detail oriented with excellent clerical and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed necessary
Ability to handle multiple tasks
