Industrial Coatings Journeyman – Painter

Graham Industrial Coatings is seeking a uniquely qualified industrial sandblaster/painter to work at our shop in Palmer, AK.

Minimum Qualifications for Submitting Application:

• 3-5 years field experience as a journeyman
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Any Applicants with both current C7 and C12 certifications will be preferred.
• Willingness to Travel is a plus
• Submit to, and pass an extensive background check
• Pass rigorous drug and alcohol screening
• Pass a fit for duty exam
• Provide 3 Personal and 3 Professional References

Demonstrate knowledge of, and previous/current qualification in industry specific Personal Protective Equipment and Safe Work Systems and Practices

• Respirator Pulmonary Qualification Test Certification
• Respirator Fit Test Certification
• Hazardous Paint Handling Certification
• Confined Space Certification
• Lead abatement removal
• Working at Heights/Fall Protection Certification
• Aerial Platform Lift Training Certification

Demonstrate knowledge of, and proficiency in the operation of surface preparation technologies, standards, and methods (preferred, not required)

• Open Dry Media Blasting
• Vapor and/or Slurry Blasting
• Hand and Power-Tool Surface Preparation (i.e. Bristle Blasting)

Demonstrate knowledge of, and proficiency in the application of numerous protective coatings and linings technologies, standards, and methods (required)

• Single Leg Airless Operation and Application
• Conventional Spray Operation and Application
• Brush and Roll Application Proficiency
• Zinc – Epoxy – Urethane Systems
• Tank and Pipe Linings
• Pipeline Girth-Weld Systems

Pass a rigorous physical fitness test, to demonstrate the ability to:

• Be able to repeatedly lift 70lbs
• Be able to do repetitive motions during shifts
• Be able to work in confined spaces
• Be able to work from heights
• Be able to work for 12hr Shifts
• Must live in the Palmer/Anchorage area!

Compensation and Location:

• Up to 60hrs per Week
• Starting at $28/hr but after 30 days can re-evaluate performance for a higher wage

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
