- Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Equipment & Tool Engineer to support the 777/X Program in Everett Washington. Specifically we are looking for those who have experience with Autoclaves and mechanical systems. A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency with a pointed focus on customer needs. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics, safety, equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. Primary Responsibilities:
- Investigates and develops equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.
- Participates in design reviews, collects design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models to support the build plan.
- Creates specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.
- Self-checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
- Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and supports user training development.
- Researches designs to create and revise usage instructions. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems, and analyzing data to identify solutions.
- Maintains hardware and software configuration. Supports the disposition of equipment and tooling.
- Partner with the Boeing global network to develop and release tool/equipment designs.
- Manage and support all aspects of the tooling value stream.
- Specific experience with Autoclaves (AC) and mechanical systems in:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)/Sensors
- Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLC programming incl. Producer-Consumer creation and Safety PLC
- Rockwell Allen-Bradley PanelView programming
- ASC CPC graphics & basic script programming incl. PC Windows programming
- Functional Safety Certification per IEC 61508 and IEC 61511
- ISA-88 PLC standard
- WA State and Federal Fired Pressure Vessel codes and inspections aka ASME/API standards
- Control Loop building and PID tuning methods
- Industrial Process Cooling Water & chemical control & design
- Composites curing technologies incl. BAC 5558, BAC 5317 and MIL-HDBK-17 Composite Materials Handbook
- Natural gas combustion heating with excess air & SmartFire controls expertise
- CISCO-based PC Networking incl Virtual LANs
- Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)
- Heat-exchangers
- Vaporizers
- Flex joints
- Plumbing systems
- Structures/welding
- Gas/nitrogen/fluids,
