Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Current ARRT Certification, required
  • Experience working with a team
  • Ability to coach and encourage staff, hold them accountable, and inform the clinical manager on image comprehension and compliance
  • Ability to review and organize radiology compliance for multiple clinics

Schedule and Locations:

  • Full-time, ~40 hrs/week
  • Traditional business hours Monday-Friday (with occasional evenings and weekends)
  • This position could need to perform at any of our AFC Portland Metro Area locations, therefore reliable transportation is essential

General Position Summary:

The AFC Imaging Manager manages aspects of the X Ray program at the AFC Portland Group of clinics. The key responsibilities are divided into 3 main areas:

  • Xray/Imaging Compliance
  • Provide technical coaching and supervision to the AFC LXMO/RT team

Imaging compliance responsibilities entail creating and maintaining standardized radiology compliance for all clinics and ongoing supervision of the LXMO/ARRT staff’s technical skills. Overall compliance responsibilities include items like ordering badges and registering techs, ensuring that all clinic’s X-ray manuals are up to date, manuals meet or exceed federal compliance standards, all X-ray staff are routinely audited for quality assurance, and that an ongoing internal training program is developed and executed on for current X-ray staff.

The AFC LXMO education program is an OBMI approved program to train AFC employees to be able to fulfill the requirements for obtaining an LXMO license in Oregon. Follow the criteria set and help assist the students enrolled.

This position will be required to schedule time in each clinic to assist with imaging. When not doing compliance, tech will be available and produce tech schedules each week for clinics to post. This involves providing clinical support to our providers by assisting with patient’s needs and obtaining diagnostic information via operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs. The Radiologic Technologist will also assist patients at registration and in the clinic rooms to ensure an optimal patient experience.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

LXMO education liaison

  • Foster the growth of the LXMO Program within AFC
  • Ensure you follow up with Director of the program and keep education and communication regarding their regulations & updates to program
  • Educate & review radiology images post course graduates.

Radiology Technician

  • Set and publish altering schedule of attendance in clinics as to help be available to Perform X-Rays
  • Perform medical assisting procedures under supervision of physician or ACP
  • Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
  • Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to Patients regarding radiology issues or questions when applicable

Radiology Compliance:

    • Maintain & improve radiology compliance program to include (but not limited to):
      • Examine and Edit current Radiology Manual and Standards
      • Continued education for our AFC LXMO or RT Staff
      • Increase quality standards by tracking radiology staff images
      • Keep track of current and expired radiology badges, and licenses
      • Prepare and set clinics up for success re: potential random audits
