JOB SUMMARY
Delivers on University Credit Union’s core purpose of giving the University Community a financial advantage by building and nurturing relationships and programs within designated authority. Responsible for supporting execution of the organization’s growth strategy to achieve and support departmental and organizational goals. Responsible for supporting the identification, planning, coordinating, managing, monitoring, and analyzing business development, events, and sponsorship programs that support and enable efforts for University Partners and Select Employee Groups (SEGs) development.
LOCATION
We are passionate about attracting great talent to our team, so this position will be a hybrid arrangement with regular travel expectations to designated university partners and CU locations.
Pay Banding Information:
Actual pay will be based on experience and qualifications, but is expected to be in the range of $60K - $75k.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for supporting the delivery of strategies and related tactics to build relationship programs that engage the University Community.
- Must successfully complete CCUFC within 6 months of starting this role.
- Know our products and how they compare to the competition.
- Position requires a high degree of professionalism, judgement, ethics, integrity, emotional intelligence, maturity, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Self-driven and motivated.
- Ensures that work area is clean, secure, professional, and well maintained.
- Stays current with financial and public relations trends.
- Completes special projects as assigned (please note that some activities may take place in the evenings or weekends).
Responsible for related duties as required or assigned.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to interact independently with all levels of management and non-management as a respected advocate for UCU.
- Refers member-owners to internal financial experts when necessary.
- Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
- Supports and assists Growth team colleagues and provides back-up support as necessary.
- Partners closely with branches and other UCU departments to enable and ensure cohesive services and operations for all members and stakeholders.
- Shares successes internally to institutionalize competitive advantage across the university portfolio.
- Participates and supports Growth Department meetings and activities.
Responsible for building and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Credit Union personnel and with management.
- Promotes all products and services, achieving individual and department targets as designated by the Chief Growth Officer. Uses consultative sales process and upholds credit union values.
- Maintains an up-to-date contact tracking tool and manages credit union University Partner and SEGs list.
- Identifies and acts upon marketing opportunities with University Partners and SEGs.
- Works with University Partners and SEGs to coordinate attendance at appropriate events and address related questions (orientation schedules, membership packets, etc.).
- Contacts current and potential member base using follow-up methods via telephone, virtual meeting, Synapsys, site visits, letters, emails, and direct mail campaigns.
- Develops and presents educational sessions on financial services to groups to promote credit union products (in-person and virtual).
- Collaborates and supports the creation of programs to solve for university stakeholder financial pain points.
- Contacts and visits prospective and existing University Partners and SEGs to share information on benefits of membership and available products/services, with a focus on the credit union’s core products.
Support the effective identification, planning, and completion of university engagement activities.
- By listening to our member’s needs, support the development of unique or creative programs to enhance our relationships with University Partners and SEGs.
- Act to deepen relationships with our University Partners and SEGs and grow our impact.
- Understands all Contractual Obligations and be knowledgeable of our University Partners and SEGs.
- Attends various meetings in the University Community and at SEGs to raise the profile of UCU, develop new business prospects and promote the credit union.
- Develops, maintains and leverages contact lists for current and new University Partners or members in the Credit Union’s field of membership.
- Proactively executes the strategies to solidify, nurture and grow UCU’s relationship with designated University Partners and SEGs.
- Uses knowledge gained through relationship development to increase penetration within designated University Partners and SEGs (B2B relationships).
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Education/Certification: Associate degree in marketing, sales, or business-related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Additional business development training preferred in a credit union, banking or financial environment where a consultative sale approach is used.
Required Knowledge : Basic knowledge of Credit Union/ financial sector operations.
Understanding of business and media processes.
Experience Required: Minimum of one year of related experience, ideally in a sales environment.
Skills/Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Well organized.
Attentive to detail.
Strong project management abilities.
Able to use related computer applications.
An independent thinker and self-starter.

Physical Requirements
If based remotely, may be required to travel up to 20% of the time to the UCU HQ in Los Angeles, so must be able to travel and move within buildings to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including a computer, telephone, copier, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for extended periods daily. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance that aligns with the pacific time zone.
Working Conditions
If working onsite, must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. If working remotely from a home office, must be able to work in a separate, quiet area, for extended periods on a computer.
