PRIMARY PURPOSE

Seeking Early, Mid, or Late Career Geologist to join the Eastern GOM team working a combination of Development, Appraisal and Exploitation projects. The candidate will interpret and integrate well, seismic, and production data to optimize field development and identify additional opportunities in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking an Early, Mid, or Late Career Geologist to join the GOM team. The ideal candidate will have experience in deep water sedimentary systems analysis and be able to integrate Geology, Seismic and Petrophysics while working safely across a multidisciplinary team (Reservoir Engineering, Drilling, Completions, Production and Land).

Will be working initially with a senior Geologist, so this is an opportunity for early or mid-career person to receive mentorship in these skills.

  • Integrate core, well log, seismic data, formation pressure, and production data to understand reservoir properties and distribution while allowing for the construction of a geomodel with Petrel for resource estimates
  • Conduct risk/uncertainty analysis to estimate the range of resource
  • Generate subsurface maps and models, prepare documents/templates for reserves review process
  • Collaborate with geophysicists on seismic structural mapping and attribute analysis for QI initiatives
  • Collaborate with reservoir engineers on history matching and continue to update geomodel to honor dynamic production data and capture recovery uncertainty
  • Liaise as a subsurface team with drilling, completion, operations geology, and regulatory for building and executing well plans and data acquisition programs
  • Support annual reserves process by working with corporate reserves team
  • Identify additional infill, extension, and exploration opportunities in or near existing fields

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES

Education:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Geology

Professional/Technical Knowledge:

  • Development or Appraisal Geology

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to integrate geology, seismic, and petrophysics into a comprehensive geologic model using Petrel to optimize field development
  • Experience with identifying additional opportunities to existing development fields
  • Prefer experience with deep water depositional systems and salt tectonics
  • Collaborate and work closely with multi-discipline development and exploration teams

Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in similar role within industry
