Alberta Veterinary Care is looking for a Lead Veterinary Client Care Representative to round out our reception team! This position is full-time. This role will join a wonderful team of 2 full-time and 1 part-time Client Care Representatives who are the first important interaction that our clients experience. This role will require approximately 35-37 hours per week.

You are tech savvy and comfortable working in a paperless setting (Avimark, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, DocHub, email platforms, etc. will all be a required part of the daily role). You are a great team player and communicate effectively within a team of peers. You have a deep understanding of the human-animal bond, and are respectful and compassionate with clients and patients. You have a basic understanding of small animal healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and medical terminology. You have a flexible schedule, including some weekend availability. You work hard, but have a sense of humor too!
*6 months+ of experience in a veterinary medicine setting in reception or administration is strongly preferred for this position.
Job duties including but not limited to:
- Provide leadership, training, and supervision to our team of CCRs.
- Oversee the daily operation of the front office and delegate duties to each employee to ensure daily tasks are completed.
- Transcribe veterinarians' schedule into practice management software and write CCR staff schedule
- Help facilitate the resolution of escalated client concerns
- Greeting (over the phone) and checking in our clients for their pets' appointments
- Booking and maintaining a very busy 3 doctor appointment calendar
- Fielding medical questions from pet owners, assessing urgency, communicating questions through appropriate channels
- Sorting and answering a customer service email account
- Managing a multi-line VOIP phone system and multiple voicemailboxes
- Reviewing and approving online prescription requests
- Providing phone triage for clients calling to assess medical urgency, making referral recommendations when unable to reasonably accommodate a visit
- Counting cash and closing a till at the close of each business day
