Job Locations: US-VA-Suffolk Your Opportunity:
The Freight Claims and Freight Analyst is responsible for ensuring all international freight claims for carrier liability are identified, investigated, and filed with the appropriate party in a timely manner. This role tracks, distributes and collects on all aspects of Freight claims/ carrier liability.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Compile, document and prepare formal claims presentation notices to carriers within a specified timeframe.
  • Monitors aging freight claims and escalates issues when needed
  • Posting financial entries and applying payments in SAP system.
  • Prepare reports related to freight claim aging and carrier/3rd party facility performance
  • Responsible for monitoring the freight claims maintenance and support for claim administration
  • Point of contact to the carrier community to resolve freight claim negotiations via settlement or negation.
  • Monitors aging freight invoices and escalates issues when needed
  • Maintain industry knowledge through affiliation with relevant organizations.
  • Ad Hoc duties in Freight Settlement
  • Claims Certification required within two years.

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Supply Chain Finance or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • SAP experience, preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive and solution-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong self-motivation and organization skills
  • Displays professionalism and integrity
  • Ability to influence change
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
  • Knowledge of financial and business principles
