Beloved restaurant and aperitivo bar Dante NYC (#1 Best Bar in North America, 2019 & 2020) is headed West. Spring 2023 will see the launch of Dante Beverly Hills at The Maybourne Beverly Hills. Situated in the heart of the city within the famous Golden Triangle, The Maybourne Beverly Hills is the first North American property from Maybourne Hotel Group, owners and operators of London’s most legendary hotels - Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley. The new space will encompass the hotel’s exceptional rooftop which features a swimming pool, cabanas and restaurant with breath-taking views of the Hollywood Hills. The chic design of Dante Beverly Hills will reflect the rest of the hotel, known as an art and interiors haven with contemporary spirit and style. Dante Beverly Hills will offer its signature, award-winning, aperitivo-style cocktails, paired with an Italian and Mediterranean-inspired food menu centered around a wood-fired oven, showcasing fresh ingredients sourced from small, local producers.

Summary of Position

The Food Runner for Maybourne Beverly Hills will act as the liaise between the kitchen and the serving staff, conveying guest needs or issues. You will be responsible for consistently following Food & Beverage sequence utilizing all proper procedures, command full knowledge of the menu and cooking preparations and be able to deliver food to guests at the table accurately, while identifying and describing each plate, assist in bussing tables or marking tables with appropriate silverware when necessary, working as a team and actively communicating with management and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests, accurately explain food orders to chefs, with specific attention to allergies and special requests, uphold our food health safety and sanitation principles, occasionally check on guests to handle any impromptu requests or issues, remove dishes from the table.

Roles and Responsibilities

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

• Consistently following Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized to Maybourne standards.
• Ensuring all orders are correct and in perfect presentation before running them to the correct table for our guests. This will include, communicating with the servers and culinary team, and makings sure the order is exact to the ticket provide by the servers, all to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
• Deliver 5 Star luxury dining experience by preventing and correcting the inconsistencies that tend to come up. Report inconsistencies and work with kitchen staff and outlet colleagues to correct.
• Must maintain full knowledge of the menu and cooking preparations.
• Deliver food to guests at table accurately, while identifying and describing each plate
• Ensure food is delivered timely and accurately.
• Assisting in bussing tables or marking tables with appropriate silverware when necessary
• Cleaning of all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining equipment in good working order while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department, and County health department
• Accurately explain food orders to chefs, with specific attention to allergies and special requests.
• Help the wait staff set up tables by placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils, decorations, and napkins.
• Uphold our food health safety and sanitation principles.
• Execute all opening and closing side duties as directed
• Occasionally check on customers to handle any impromptu requests or issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications Required:

• High school or equivalent education required
• 2-years’ experience as a server assistant/busser in a similar restaurant environment
• Prior luxury hospitality experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be dependable and available to work within the hotel on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands.
• Must possess good attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry heavy trays and equipment, as well as delicate China and barware
• Must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period.
• Must be physically able to stand for extended period
• The position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, repetitive motion, bending and climbing
• Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfil tasks
• Ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work areas.
• Job requires indoor and outdoor service in fluctuating weather
