In 1991, Joanne Currie and her husband Ross purchased Splash Café in Pismo Beach, CA. Over the next 30 years they became well known for winning the 1st place award for their Clam Chowder at the annual Clam Festival. The cafes now serve more than 40,000 gallons of chowder a year, and they have been featured in several national and international publications and TV shows. PACKER & PACKAGER

Splash Cafe is looking for an individual to package our World FAMOUS clam chowder into retail boxes to be sold. This position is part-time with room to grow! Looking for someone with Tuesday & Thursday early morning availability.

GENERAL

• Work location: 197 Pomeroy Ave, Pismo Beach
• Employment: Part-time with morning availability
• The position reports to the General Manager and Operations Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clam chowder preparation for retail use (steps include packing product into heat sealed pouches, pouch cleanliness, and packaging into retail boxes)
• Maintain high food safety and sanitation standards
• Monitor food presentation, quality, timing, and cleanliness
• Communicate with Operations Manager regarding inventory and / or issues
• Deep cleaning
• Other duties as assigned

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• 1+ years of restaurant experience preferred
• Proof and documentation of being able to work in the US
• Must provide CA Food Handlers Card with 30 days of employment
• Individual does not require a strong culinary background
• Must be available Tuesday & Thursday with early morning availability
• Must have a positive attitude
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

COMPENSATION

Starting at $15.75/hour to start with raises beginning at 30 days of employment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $15.75 per hour
