The Filling and Packaging Operator 2nd shift (2p.m.-10:30 p.m.) is responsible for performing required routine pouching, bagging, labeling packaging. In addition,will support bottling, filling, TruCOUNT boxing and label preparation processes according to established procedures. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Must also be able to read, understand and complete all packaging documentation including batch records, standard operating procedures, material specifications and material requests among others. Must possess strong basic computer and analytical skills, have the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly diverse, team-oriented environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Executes the following Fill and Pack processes:

  • Final Product labeling

  • Final Product Generic Kitting

Support the following Fill and Pack processes:

  • Pre work for Fill and Pack processes (issuance of batch records and documents, label printing, etc)

  • Filling & Packaging process by manual and automatic filling (filling/vialing, capping & labeling) and packaging (labeling, bagging, pouching and kitting).

  • Boxing and label preparation for the TruCOUNT area.

  • Inspections as per applicable production record

  • Responsible for material preparation per established procedures.

  • Perform inspection, verification for calibration and maintenance of equipment.

  • Maintains related logs and manufacturing records.

  • Actively participate in the Daily Management System by attending, leading shift start up meeting and providing, posting and tracking appropriate metrics

Observes:

  • Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP), safety Regulation, ISO requirements and Company Policies.

  • Provides feedback for document improvement and changes to the area.

  • Promotes a safe work environment by providing recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment, following safety procedures, participating in Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) programs, initiating a corrective action whenever a hazard is identified, notifying supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.

  • Supports Quality Assurance by keeping abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements, participating as required in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work, bringing regulatory compliance questions/issues to next level of management.

  • Meets daily/weekly/monthly departmental production objectives efficiently and effectively with a high degree of quality.

  • Manages materials including but not limited to storing, retrieving staging and reconciling inventories as required.

  • Process packaging data into the SAP system and/or other Production Planning/Manufacturing Resource database system(s).

  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.

  • Provide recommendations to support systems that continuously improve product/process quality and product availability, reduce cost, and increase production capability.

Actively participates of Continuous Improvement activities that improves product/process quality and product availability, reduce cost, and increase production capability such as:

  • Provides feedback for document improvement and changes of their area.

  • Provides ideas to improve area’s efficiencies and to reduce downtime

  • Maintains area’s 5S

  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Technical degree related to Science fields is preferable.

  • Minimum of three months of experience in regulated industry is preferable.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Self-motivated, must have ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to read, write and understand Spanish and English.

  • Proficient learner with new tasks and methods.

  • Basic knowledge in computer applications, email and office software.

  • Ability and knowledge to perform math calculations and measurement conversions.

  • Knowledge of GMP, QSR or ISO requirements desirable.

  • Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the job position.
