Family Nurse Practitioner - Family Medicine in Fort Wayne, IN
IU Health in Fort Wayne is growing and hiring a Family Nurse Practitioner to join our Family Medicine practice!
Position Details:
- Full-time
- Days, Monday-Thursday
- 100% outpatient
- Expected patient volume is 60/week, newborn to geriatric
- X-ray and lab located in office
- Minor procedures
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess health status through obtainment of relevant health history and comprehensive physical exam, preventative screening, and identification of medical risk factors.
- Formulate appropriate differential diagnosis and identification of individual, family, and community needs.
- Develops treatment plan to maximize the health potential of the individual, family, and/or community.
- Orders and adjusts medication per collaborative written agreement and prescriptive authority in accordance with the Indiana Nurse Practice Act, or in consultation, and with signature of physician.
- Directs the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards for nursing practice.
- Serves as a clinical resource for the nursing staff, physicians, hospital, and other healthcare providers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan.
- Provide prompt and professional medical attention to patients.
- Maintains documentation in accordance with IU Health policies, standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Expands and maintains professional knowledge through continuing medical education.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- FNP certification required
- 1+ year of primary care NP experience required
- Must be comfortable working with all ages
