The Otis Service Center (OSC) Electronics Shop is looking for an Electronics Test Technician to test, troubleshoot, repair and modify Printed Circuit Boards and Power Supplies to obtain specified functionality.
Job Responsibilities
- Must adherence to all EH&S policies and procedures
- Must be able to read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications and other written instructions to accurately assemble equipment and products
- Ability to follow documented procedures and schematics to perform modification and electro-mechanical assembly.
- Ability to program EEPROMs, EPROMs and PLCs using programmers such as DataMan.
- Assemble standard test apparatus or test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of circuit boards
- Completes and documents production and quality paperwork, follows shop system data collection procedures and follows inspection procedures on a daily basis
- Must be able to adhere to Otis’ Absolutes: Safety, Ethics and Quality.
- Ability to participate in annual inventory

Physical Demand:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. If an item weighs more than 50 lbs., employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane, forklift or other lifting devises
- Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception
- Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Education
The successful candidate must have a Trade School Certification in Electronics or equivalent.
BS in Electronics Engineering Technology preferred.
Experience/Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess 1 to 3 years’ experience with Electronics repair and experience with Analog and Digital circuits. In addition, the successful candidate:
- Must possess a safety mindset, including the ability to follow all safety policies and procedure
- Must be able to adhere to assigned work schedule, including shift start time and annual inventory
- Must be team oriented with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with others.
- Able to understand and interpret Sinusoidal wave form signals
- May be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as required
- Experience working with Oscilloscopes, VOM, DVM, signal generators, power meters, and similar hand and test tools
- Collaborate with engineers and other professionals on technical tasks
- Able to calculate the voltage and current drop in a simple circuit.
- Ability to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Firm understanding of overvoltage and current in a circuit.
