About the position: Education Manager-Equity: Responsible for assessing, supporting, and advancing health equity, with a focus on racial equity and reproductive justice, within PPGNHAIK education programs and services. Ensures continuous quality improvement in centering equity for the successful management, operations, communications, execution, and evaluation of education programs. Provides Department-wide support through monitoring and maintaining equity practices, policies, and processes. Estimated Salary: $64K-$126K

This is a remote role, and the position can be filled within any of our six states: Hawaii, Washington, Alaksa, Idaho, Indiana, and Kentucky.
Compensation: PPGNHAIK's compensation philosophy is based on equity and transparency. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate's directly applicable experience and internal equity within the pay grade. The pay range is $64K to $126K, paid (annually or hourly). Pay is also determined by geographic location.
What you’ll be doing: Interfaces with Education Department staff, as well as affiliate and community partners, to develop strategies related to equity in education curriculum, materials, training, support, and program implementation. Assesses, designs, observes delivery of and ensures support for quality regional and national education programming and training, utilizing equity best practices. In partnership with Department staff, ensures curriculum and programmatic fidelity and quality. Leads state Information & Education committees as part of Title X requirements. Provides professional development support to education staff.

Major Responsibilities:
Strategic leadership on centering equity in education programs and services.

Researches and integrates emerging equity best practices with tangible application to education programs and services.

Develops process to assess, design and support utilizing equity lens in education programs and services and ensure they are anti-oppressive, anti-racist and gender-affirming.

Leads with a collaborative approach that supports a just departmental culture that values continuous learning, commitment to excellence, honest communication, and curiosity.

Collaborates with Education department staff in developing and adapting community assessments that center BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth and the adults that serve them.

Ensures Education Department staff delivering programs are kept informed and current on equity best practices, expectations, and tools by skillfully using multiple communication and training techniques while utilizing a variety of learning platforms, such as virtual, web-based, print, phone, and culturally responsive language.
Facilitates advisory/information and education committees in each state as required by Title X funding to review and approve print and electronic informational and educational materials developed or made available under the project. Provides feedback to Title X internal and external staff to advance equity best practices for communities served.
Develops and maintains relationships with partner organizations and community stakeholders. Uses culturally humble communication techniques to listen, contribute, develop understanding, and build relationships with community stakeholders, prioritizing LGBTQ+ and BIPOC organization leaders/staff and stakeholders.
Partners with Education Leadership to develop and manage departmental racial equity work including race-based caucuses.
Participates in the creation and oversight of budget and fiscal responsibilities. Supports internal and external partners on budgets as needed.
Participate in curriculum and course development for Education programs by drafting curriculum and providing reviews as necessary. Collaborates with Education Leadership to apply continuous quality improvement to curriculum and education materials to meet program needs.

Ensures program fidelity within assigned program(s) and implementation partners.

Provides direction for all program evaluation efforts internal, and external, including randomized control trials, community assessments, data collection and reporting. Collaborates with internal and external evaluators as appropriate.

Maintains knowledge on learning methodologies, best practices, and the latest developments in equity and inclusion, pedagogy, virtual learning, youth engagement, and sexual health by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networks, and participating in workgroups.
Understands diverse client needs and offers useful and timely interventions in cases where progress is impeded due to an equity or diversity-related issue.
Recognizes and addresses one’s filters, privileges, biases, and cultural preferences with awareness, knowledge, and skill emphasis.
Seeks and utilizes feedback from diverse sources to increase interpersonal capacity and professional development.
Commits to continuous learning / improvement in diversity, inclusion, and equity work within the Education department.
Collaborates on the Department goals and development of support systems and tools for staff as part of the Education Leadership Team. Participate with other Education Leaders on department committees and projects.

Collaborates with the Development Team in securing funding by providing information about Education programs, data, impact statements, participant testimonials, and photos. Actively assists in grant applications and funder report writing.
Serves as representative of PPGNHAIK’s Education Department to community organizations, schools, other Planned Parenthood affiliates, and external partners.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
None

Education:
Degree in social sciences or related field; or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Education field, preference in sexuality education or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with project/program management, preference in sexuality education programs.
Experience providing capacity building and training services required.
Experience providing services to LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC youth or the adults who work with them.
Knowledge of adolescent development and adult learning preferred.
Deep understanding and experience with racial equity and reproductive justice frameworks and inclusive community development.
Demonstrated success building coalitions/partnership with community groups representing a wide range of diverse communities and overall maintaining effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders. Diverse communities include racial and ethnic communities, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, under resourced, rural, immigrant, low income, diverse ability levels, cultures, etc.).

Skills:
Sexual and reproductive health knowledge strongly preferred.
Experience writing lessons plans and curricula.
Lived or demonstrated experience leading community or education initiatives.
Comfortable engaging with staff teams virtually across time-zones.
Experience providing virtual/online training programs preferred.
Experience observing and providing coaching and feedback for educational and youth programming preferred.
Bilingual or multilingual a plus.
