Harbor Health looking for an experienced Driver/Front Desk Specialist to become a member of our team! The Driver/Front Desk Specialist will be responsible for the daily transportation, set-up, breakdown, and day-to-day maintenance of the mobile healthcare unit(s). This role may also be tasked with supporting mobile unit administrative duties such as Front Desk reception, answering member questions and addressing concerns, and monitoring supply levels and reporting equipment malfunctions. Additionally, may also support in processing member payments and contacting insurance companies to verify cover and benefits.


Our Driver/Front Desk Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Planning routes and meeting vehicle schedules
  • Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.
    Performing daily maintenance of the vehicle (refueling, etc) and pre/post-trip vehcile inspection reports.
  • Driving long distance while obeying and following applicable traffic laws and compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Communicating and coordinating with operational and clinical leaders.
  • Interacting with customers in a professional manner by providing initial customer service to all members including but not limited to, greeting members, scheduling and confirming member appointments using a multi-line phone, performing data entry into the electronic medical record system for member information, creating member files, and answering or properly referring member questions.
  • Completing member intakes and verifying financial records and collecting member charges while filing and expediting third-party claims.
  • Maintaining mobile unit inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders.

Successful Drivers will have:

  • A valid Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with Physicians, other medical professionals, office personnel employees and customers
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Additional Skills & Experiences Preferred include:

  • Active and valid State of Texas issued commercial driver’s license (CDL)
  • Prior medical office and/or healthcare setting experience
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Prior customer support experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills

Physical Requirements of the role include:

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Remaining seated for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and items
