Director of Programs

The Neighborhood Center is a private, non-profit community-based organization that assists low-income residents of Northampton County, PA, which provides the following services:

  • Transitional Housing Program
  • Rental Assistance
  • Utility Assistance
  • Social Security Representative Payee Service
  • Urban Farm
  • Food Pantry
  • information, referral and advocacy services

General Description: Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Director of Programs will be responsible for the operational success of The Neighborhood Center ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation. In this newly established role, the Director of Programs will manage a growing staff of 4. The Director of Programs will be a key external face of The Neighborhood Center in the community.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas.
  • Develop and implement a system to evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of all staff.
  • Implement a professional development program to address employee experience and skill gaps.
  • Work with staff to develop objective performance measurements, to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for all employees.

Qualifications

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual with non-profit management experience to grow and further develop the programs and services of The Neighborhood Center. The successful candidate will lead programs and partner with the ED in reaching strategic goals.

Specific requirements include:

  • Minimum of a BA, MA preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience with three of those in a management role
  • Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models, and selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs
  • Strength in hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, span-of-control and performance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite & ability to work in online platforms.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
