Rye Country Day School is seeking a Director of Facilities beginning July 1, 2023. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, Prek-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. Specific responsibilities of the position include:

• Create and monitor the institution’s facilities and grounds budget.
• Establish, develop, and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the proper and safe operation of all buildings systems and grounds facilities.
• Oversee and manage the distribution of work assignments.
• Schedule personnel to cover all aspects of operation.
• Manage all mechanical, electrical, structural, BMS, fire suppression systems, elevators and other building systems ongoing and long-term maintenance through a planned/preventative maintenance plan

• Act as a member of emergency planning and incident management and ensure that necessary policies and procedures are in place, communicated, and executed.
• Apply best practices for work safety and have knowledge of all local and state building codes and mandatory reporting.
• Evaluate, select and oversee contracts of facility projects and delivery of services.
• Handle long-range planning to support future needs.
• Integrate technology software programs (preventative maintenance, asset / repair forecasting) for efficiencies and historic information.
• Assist with plans for renovation, additions or new structures.
• Interact with members of the community providing clear communication and strong support for facility needs.

Desired qualifications:

• Experience working in facilities management, preferably in a school setting (minimum of 5 years).
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish respect, credibility, and trust, and maintain productive working relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Ability to apply discretion and good judgment in a variety of confidential and potentially sensitive circumstances.
• Proficiency in Maximo and Diversified intelligence a plus.
