THE ROLE
Reporting to the Sr Director of Contract Manufacturing you will lead all aspects of multiple Contract Manufacturing locations to deliver world-class results in cost, quality, and service. Develop and maintain long-term business relationships with contract manufacturing partners to exceed company objectives including volume growth, food safety, product quality, service (OTIF), and cost optimization. Provide a consistent approach to identifying, selecting, and qualifying company partners. Lead a regimented approach to contract negotiations utilizing standardized processes and templates. Provide strategic leadership and project management for business growth, innovation, network optimization, and productivity improvement programs. Ensure clear communication of priorities and results by leading efforts between Operations, Procurement, Sales, R&D, T&W, Finance, and Supply Planning departments.
YOUR TASK
- Manage the most complicated and challenging relationships with minimal supervision leveraging experience and credibility to influence at all levels of both the common partner and BRCC organizations
- Assesses supplier performance and proactively ensures quality, service, and cost objectives are achieved through coaching and influence management. Responsible for quality, food safety, case fill, raw and finished goods inventory, finished goods production, material planning, cost controls, contract negotiations, project management, reporting, inventory reconciliation, regulatory compliance, and the overall relationship with our Contract Manufacturing partners.
- Responsible for developing and executing complex negotiations strategy independently (leveraging business acumen, creativity, and negotiation skills)ensuring alignment with the Legal Department and BRCC Sr Leadership.
- Spearhead department initiatives to improve total cost utilizing a variety of continuous improvement tools, negotiation strategies, should cost modeling, market analysis, etc. Complete total delivered cost analysis including raw material procurement, operational and T&W costs while balancing service and quality key performance measures.
- Develop a risk management plan for supplemental production options to mitigate service issues in the event of internal/external manufacturing disruptions
- Collaborate with Supply Planning to provide regular capacity analysis based on demonstrated efficiency to ensure adequate capacity is available to meet Customer demands. Coordinate all activities between the various internal platforms and external manufacturing partners to facilitate innovation, performance, and productivity projects. Eliminate barriers, and roadblocks and resolve conflict.
- Establish and report KPIs for Contract Manufacturers in quality, food safety, customer service, and cost. Develop and execute strategies to deliver strategic company objectives. Conduct regular operational reviews to identify opportunity areas and eliminate waste.
- Provide focus and coordination in communicating and resolving immediate business issues (i.e., product holds, service concerns, inventory risk, or other significant unusual occurrences). Manages inventory discrepancies and claims for excess losses or supplier issues between Contract Manufacturers and Corporate functions to control costs and ensure quick resolution of outstanding issues.
- Benchmark key competitive set within the beverage industry for new technology and productivity strategies. Analyze manufacturing best practices within the company and with external CPG Companies. Implement best practices (non -confidential technologies, cost improvement programs, organizational designs, etc.) within the network of Contract
- Update leadership and cross-functional support organizations on emerging manufacturing opportunities/risks. Develop effective and timely contingency plans to avert issues.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- B.S. in Managerial/Technical area (or related field of study)
- Significant and diverse management experience (7+ years of plant operations, engineering, supply chain, distribution, and/or procurement experience preferred).
- Demonstrated driver for results including Project Management, negotiations, performance improvement, and cost savings.
- Strong business skills with the ability to understand, use and develop key financial tools (BOM costing, budgets, discounted cash flows analysis, SOX compliance, Capital Leases, TDC analysis, etc.).
- Strategic thinker. Superior problem-solving skills and the ability to think “outside the box” to define problems through data collection, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Make complex decisions leading a matrix organization
- Former Military Service is a plus
- Experience with lean manufacturing and quality systems supporting a continuous improvement culture
- Ability to understand and analyze a manufacturing/supply chain P&L
- Willingness to be very hands-on and detail-oriented
- Travel required; can be significant at times.
