About the Director of Clinical Informatics Role:

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide strategic, clinical and technical oversight of programs within clinical informatics. Our clinical informatics team builds, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains the electronic health record (Elation) and an application within Salesforce (CRM tool) called Health Cloud. Both systems are used by our clinical teams for direct patient care and care coordination.


Functions of the role:

  • Accountable as the clinical subject matter expert for application build and configuration, leading people, implementing processes, and leveraging technology/applications to ensure that workflows are efficient, effective, and well-designed
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to assist in implementation of clinical programs, identify workflow improvements and resolve gaps in application utilization
  • Responsible for needs/impact assessments and evaluations, quality assurance and user acceptance testing, developing and maintaining the processes and tools needed to ensure successful execution of Clinical Informatics
  • Provides leadership and guidance and demonstrates ability to coordinate and facilitate teamwork with cross functional teams
  • Builds and strengthens the clinical informatics team by understanding and supporting strategic initiatives and priorities
  • Maintains confidentiality of all PHI/PII according to HIPAA rules and regulations and in line with IT security and privacy policies
  • Effective conflict management skills, coaches and delivers constructive feedback
  • Proactively approaches responsibilities, and balances multiple priorities and information needs across team and organization
  • Action oriented and in possession of critical thinking, problem solving and cognitive skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, set appropriate priorities, and draw valid conclusions
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to rapidly summarize complex information and present to others

Nice-to-have Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master of Science degree in Nursing and/or Master of Business Administration (Or bachelor's degree in technology or related field and relevant experience)
  • 5+ years related experience in clinical informatics, management, nursing and/or education
  • 20% business travel required to clinical markets and onsite meetings
  • US Work Authorization is required
