Milliman’s Milwaukee Property and Casualty Practice is seeking a Capital Markets Director to join their vibrant, dynamic, and growing practice. The Capital Markets Director will be responsible for developing a practice dedicated to serving residential mortgage originators, servicers, and the secondary market. The ideal candidate will have well-established industry relationships, is a leader in the field, and has experience running large secondary markets operations for national mortgage lenders.

The Milwaukee office provides consulting services to a wide variety of entities, including primary insurance companies, reinsurance companies, self-insured corporations, start-up/insurtech entities, government entities, and many others. Our consultants and staff within the office have expertise in an equally diverse range of specialties, which allows us to construct custom teams for each client to meet the unique needs of each assignment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform data analysis using Excel, SAS, R, SQL, and proprietary Milliman programs
  • Assist with consulting assignments for various property and casualty insurance lines of business, such as private passenger auto, homeowners, workers’ compensation, professional liability, commercial auto, commercial property, and more
  • Work on projects involving pricing, predictive modeling, product development, reserving, financial projections, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Responsible for reviewing the work of others, assisting with research, and supporting business development efforts
  • Manage the day-to-day work for projects, including doing some technical work while delegating the majority of the technical work to associate actuaries and analysts to help meet client needs

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or related field
  • At least 20 years of experience in secondary markets
  • Served as a Head of Capital Markets, or equivalent, for a national mortgage lender
  • Experience leading a secondary markets team of over 20 FTE’s with overall responsibility for mortgage pricing, hedging and trading for a national mortgage lender

Salary: The salary range is $325,000 to $450,000 annually, depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.

Location: It is preferred that candidates work on-site at our Milwaukee, WI office. Remote candidates will be considered.
